Do Artifacts Have Politics?

I understand the question to mean - do objects have inherent meaning? Can an object by itself be rhetorical?

I would say yes, although some objects are more overtly political than others. Objects are designed and created by people to serve a specific purpose. That purpose has a meaning to the person creating it, and that meaning is passed along to the artifact. The shape of an object can effect how people view it and utilize it. Color can also be used to provide meaning.
