What does editing mean?: To me; to edit is to check a written work for proper grammar, spelling, and ease of readability ie: "You're" not "your" and correcting awkward sentences, which are obscure or unclear etc. Personal editing experiences: I haven't had much editing experience on this level except for editing my own work and my roommate's papers. The majority of my editing has taken place on another level as more of a manager of information; deciding what to include or not include in a publication etc. What does tech. ed. mean?: I think that technical editing is a marriage of what I defined editing to be and what my personal experience has been. How is it different from my understanding of editing?: See above. |
