AmirNWelcome to Amir's Engl 427 Technical Editing page. Dilbert | Terms | Homework | Grammar Girl What does editing mean to me? To go through a document and correct mistakes. This is to polish it up and make it easy for the reader to get through. This also gives it more credibility. What experience do i have with it? Ive taken a many technical writing classes so i would say I have some experience but not too extensive. I have always been on the recieving side of the editing rather than the giving side. This is the first time I would really have to do the editing rather than recieve it. What would technical editing mean? Editing with an end goal in mind. This would be doing more than just surface level editing, but also structural editing. How will Technical editing be different from what i understand editing to be at this point? Technical editing, I would think is a more focused type of editing that will be aiming to get a certain thing accomplished. Since the point of many documents is to do work, then technical editing would be editing the document in order to best get that work done. It would vary in levels of high and low level editing.
