ConversationListening in on a Conversation (The aunt and niece walks into the home) The Aunt said, Renee, I know you're upset, but you never gave them a chance to know you. The cousin, Stacy said, Well, Renee, how did it go at your college scholarship meet and greet meeting? The niece, Renee said, apparently I wasn't good enough for them. The aunt said, Renee people will judge you by your appearance and the way you speak. The niece said, but that aint right! The aunt said, lots of things in life are not right, but you don't give up. If you do then they win. The niece said, auntie, I wanna go to college, but I aint staking no chips like that. The aunt said, Stacy what did Renee say? Stacy said, she means she does not have a lot of money. The niece said, well, if they don't wanna give me a shot because I don't fit in then I don't want it! The aunt said, Renee, do your best and let God take care of the rest. Your interview with the scholarship committee is tomorrow, so lets give it another shot. The cousin said, yes, let's do it with a new look, Renee. We can all go shopping for new clothes and we can help you decide on a new hairstyle. The niece said, What, Stacy, you don't like the way I look? Stacy said, I have no problem in the way you dress, but you are not trying to impress me. Renee, in order to reach the people you have to speak their language. I know personally how looks can be deceiving. The aunt says, Are you ready for your makeover. The niece, I guess so! (They all left the home.) This conversation started off as an argument and ended as an agreement. |
