Getting To Know Scott I was born in Livonia, Michigan on January 10th, 1973. I have lived all of my life in Northville, Michigan. My father was born in Detroit and grew up in Dearborn. His mother's family was Irish and his father's was German. My mother was born in London, Ontario, Canada and lived on an apple orchard in Canada until her family immigrated to Clearwater, Florida. Her mother and father's family were all from Scotland. One of the biggest influences on me has been that my family has spent every summer of my life at our cottage in Erieau, Ontario, Canada. Erieau is a very small fishing village on the North shore of Lake Erie. I still spend part of every summer there when I can. I started my "formal" education at the Little Red Schoolhouse and then went on to Moraine Elementary School in Northville. During that time I was very active in Cub Scouts, Weeblos and Boy Scouts. I attended Meads Mill Middle SChool and Northville High School. I was active on the football, wrestling and track teams. I feel that organized sports whether team or individual are a great learning experience. I had a short experience at Ferris State University and learned what not to do at school. After that I began my eight year career as an apprentice mold maker. The shop I worked at was in Detroit and it taught me to deal with all sorts of crazy characters. I think that it was a good life experience to see what the world was like on the other side of the tracks. My job entailed making prototype plastic models and molds. In addition to mold making I was in purchasiing. This job is the reason I chose to major in teaching Industrial Technology. Having worked in the "real World" has given me a good perspective on how to try to teach useful skills that students can really use. Because of where I worked it taught me how to deal with all sorts of people. After all of my life experiences I feel that the roads have all led to teaching. I hope to be a good one.
I've never done so many draffs before. It really makes me look at my writting.
My first memo I wrote like a biography. The second memo I tried to add more experiences to make it less like a biography type paper. By the final draft I tried to get a little more personal so that I could try to make a connection with my readers.

Getting to know Scott OVERVIEW This is an introduction to my memo. This memo will tell you what I have done in the past and hopefully what I will do in the future. I hope that I have made this interesting enough that my fellow students will take the time to read it. I tried to apply some of the writing techniques that I have learned so far and hope that they have improved my writing. I was born in Livonia, Michigan on January 10th, 1973. I feel that my experience in the work force will benefit my students greatly once i finsh here at Eastern. One thing that you should probably know about me is that I tend to talk too much and very often put my foot in my mouth. I have a tendency to offend but i always mean it in jest.
